STANLEY'S FARM CLUB
FORMER FLYERS WIN CUPS
You're welcome, Stanley Cup Champions.
The Flyers have not won the Stanley Cup for 50+ years, but, like a good farm club, they have sure done an excellent job supplying talent to the teams that have.
Believe it or not, 14 of the last 20 Stanley Cup champions have featured one or more former Flyers players in the lineup (and within a couple of weeks, it will be 15 out of 21):
2006 HURRICANES
Mark Recchi
2007 DUCKS

2009 PENGUINS

2010 BLACKHAWKS

This year's Finals feature former Flyers aplenty.
The Hurricanes have 5 ex-Flyer players - Sean Burke, Nic Deslauriers, Shayne Gostisbehere, Tanner Laczynski, and Sean Walker - as well as head coach Rod Brind'Amour.
The Knights have ex-Flyer Carter Hart, as well as head coach John Tortorella.
Unfortunately, the Flyers' knack for parting with championship talent extends to the 76ers as well. Ex-Sixers Mikal Bridges and Landry Shamet are heading to the NBA Finals with the Knicks, and they will be going up against ex-Sixer Julian Champagnie of the Spurs.
Can you picture A. J. Brown leading the New England Patriots to their 7th Lombardi Trophy? Perish the thought!
