As the name implies, Sp0t Gourmet Burgers, located in a laid-back storefront on Girard in the heart of Brewerytown, is a burger lover’s paradise. Sp0t is also a cheesesteak lover's paradise.
Chef Josh Kim started out with a humble food cart back in 2012, but it did not take long for folks to take notice. Philadelphia magazine was among the first to sing Josh's praises, and now Josh can proudly claim not one but two Best of Philly awards.
Sp0t Gourmet Burgers has that wondrous Philadelphia combination of unpretentious charm and top-tier food - exactly what you would expect from a chef who is more interested in flavor than flash.
Chef Josh is naturally a wizard at crafting innovative, delicious burgers. But Willie's focus is cheesesteaks, so let’s get into it. Sp0t’s cheesesteak is everything a purist could want - a beautifully crisped roll loaded with a generous helping of tender, seasoned beef, topped with your choice of Whiz, American, or Provolone. (Sorry, no Cooper Sharp here - Josh keeps it classic.)
