From the moment you enter the Taste Cheesesteak Bar on JFK Boulevard in Center City, you know you are not at Pat's or Geno's. The funky music and dark, sleek interior make it clear that this is not your ordinary cheesesteak joint - it is indeed a bar. A bar that also happens to serve excellent cheesesteaks.
You want a juicy cheesesteak overflowing with well-seasoned beef and Cooper Sharp on a seeded roll? No problem - the Taste can handle that. But you can also get a chicken cheesesteak. Or a jerk chicken cheesesteak. Or how about a salmon cheesesteak, or a cauliflower Portobello mushroom cheesesteak, or even an oxtail cheesesteak?
And you can wash them down with a martini or other mixed drink of choice, while watching sporting events on the large screens.
