BELMONT PLATEAU

BEAUTY-FUL VIEW OF PHILLY

Philadelphia is a beautiful city. And if you are showing visitors around, or taking scenic photos, or just want to have a special moment all to yourself, there are plenty of places to view the spectacular Center City skyline.

The top of the Art Museum's "Rocky Steps," the South Street Bridge, and the Camden Waterfront are all great. But in Willie's humble opinion, no view is more breathtaking that the one from Belmont Plateau in Fairmount Park, at the scenic Belmont Plateau Viewpoint in front of the Belmont Mansion.

Any season, in any kind of weather, or at any time of day or night, is good - although late afternoon, on a clear day when the setting sun is illuminating the sides of the buildings, is especially nice.

To get to the scenic Belmont Plateau Viewpoint, just turn onto Belmont Mansion Drive from Belmont Avenue (or from Montgomery Drive) and follow it around a few hundred yards to the Belmont Mansion. You will know the overlook it when you see it.
