STEAKS ON STATE

DOYLESTOWN DELICIOUS

It's always a treat to head north of Philly to Doylestown, the majestic hub of Bucks County.

There you will find stately old homes, many interesting museums (including Vampa, the vampire museum), stores, and restaurants, and perhaps take in an excellent art film at the lovingly restored County Theater.

And you will find one thing more - Steaks on State, where you can enjoy true Philly-quality cheesesteaks in pleasant, cheerful surroundings.

Steaks on State is right in the middle of town. A clean, spacious storefront with plenty of table seating and walls well decorated with Woodstock-era posters and whimsical art - a fitting spot to begin (or end) your special day in Doylestown.

The cheesesteak is a masterpiece that hits all the right notes - fresh baked roll from Liscio's Bakery, 13 ounces of lean fresh-cut eye round, melted Cooper Sharp cheese, and fried onions.

Perfecto.

Other cheesesteak options are also available - pastrami, roast beef au jus, and, of course, chicken (plain, Buffalo, or Nashville style). If you would prefer not to have a cheesesteak, SOS also offers hoagies, wraps, fajitas, and (heaven forbid) salads.

And speaking of options, there are five different varieties of French fries on the menu.

Bottom line - you can eat just about anything you want. But if you are not hungry and came only to shop, SOS has you covered there as well, with stylish T-shirts, hoodies, and trucker hats.
