If you are a true Philly sports fan, you know that the Philadelphia Polo Classic is a charity fundraising event that takes place every year (or almost every year) in Fairmount Park.  Thousands attend.

 

The next one is in 2026 and plans are already underway.

A standard polo field is 300 yards x 160 yards (432,000 square feet), making it the largest rectangular competition area in all of sports.  It is roughly 7½ times the size of a football field.

A standard women’s gymnastics balance beam surface is approximately 16.4 feet x 4 inches (about 5.47 square feet), making it arguably the smallest.

 

In other words, a polo field is nearly 79,000 times the size of a balance beam.
