MLB - AUGUST 2025
5 INTERESTING OBSERVATIONS
We are now three quarters the way through the 2025 baseball season. Here are 5 interesting observations since the All-Star break:

PHILS ARE REMARKABLY CONSISTENT
Although the hitting has run hot and cold, the Phillies have performed just about the same since the All-Star break as before. They were 55-41 (.573) before the All-Star break and have gone 17-12 (.586) since then. Looking at before the All-Star break vs. after, the Phils have been the NL's most consistent team.

SOMETHING'S BREWING IN MILWAUKEE
Since the All-Star break, the Brewers have been in a universe of their own. They have gone 23-5 (.821) and are now MLB's #1 team. No one else is close. No other NL team has a win percentage over .600. The Brewers' win percentage is .637. Winning 14 in a row (and scoring 10 or more runs in 5 of those games) will do that.

PLAYOFF TEAMS ARE THE SAME
The 12 teams that were in playoff position before the All-Star break are still in playoff position today. This is so even though only 6 of those 12 teams have played better than .500 ball since the break. In fact, since the All-Star break, the Dodgers, Cubs, and Mets have fared worse than the Rockies (still MLB's worst team). Although not yet in playoff position, several other teams have been hot and are knocking at the door.

HOTTEST TEAMS SINCE THE BREAK
The Brewers (with their .821 win percentage) have been far and away the hottest. But look out for the Guardians (.621) and the Royals (.607). Could there be another "Philadelphia vs. Kansas City" sports championship? It's possible.

WORST TEAMS SINCE THE BREAK
Nope, it is not the Rockies, White Sox, Nationals, Pirates, or Athletics. Try the Giants (.321), Cards (.379), Rays (.393), and Twins (.393). And OMG, let's not forget the 5th worst - the Mets (.407).
