HOT OR NOT?
SINCE THE ALL-STAR BREAK
Here is how the MLB teams fared after the All-Star break (with playoff teams in RED):

For the most part, the hottest teams since the All-Star break made the playoffs.
Although the A's, Marlins, and Royals all finished strong, they could not make up for their poor starts.
The Astros, Mets, and Tigers were all in playoff position at the All-Star break but played poorly after. Only the Tigers (who had baseball's best record at the break) hung on for a post-season berth.
The only MLB team with a better record than the Phillies since the All-Star break has been the Cleveland Guardians, who finished with one more win than the Phils. So, like the Eagles, the Phillies are hot heading into the playoffs. They have had a .621 win percentage since the All-Star break.
Want even more encouraging news? The Phillies have played .648 ball since they acquired Harrison Bader and Jhoan Duran from the Twins, and they have played .650 ball since Zach Wheeler's last start.
